You must demonstrate and provide proof of the following minimum requirements you'll bring to the team:
1. Offshore Miles Logged
- At least 5,000 nautical miles offshore, with 1,000+ in ocean crossings (e.g., transatlantic or similar).
- Minimum two multi-day offshore passages (5+ days).
2. Race Experience
- Participation in at least two Category 1 or 2 offshore races (e.g., Fastnet, Sydney-Hobart, Transpac, RORC Caribbean 600, Newport-Bermuda).
- Experience in night sailing and watch systems.
3. Roles and Skills
- Demonstrated watch leadership or key crew roles (e.g., helm, trimmer, navigator).
- Strong proficiency in sail changes, reefing, spinnaker handling, and emergency drills.
- Familiarity with AIS, GPS, radar, Iridium, and onboard systems.
- Experience in trades involving boat preparation, maintenance and development.
4. Certifications
- Valid STCW Basic Safety Training or RYA Sea Survival.
- Medical at Sea or equivalent first aid certification.
- Valid ISAF/World Sailing Offshore Safety certificate.
5. Fitness & Commitment
- Physically fit for extended offshore performance.
- Willing to commit to training and qualifying sails as required by the campaign.
